Admin Question by dark: Are there any pro-life people on here who actually like Obama?
I know a person who is Christian and pro-life. This person doesn’t like abortion because they know how the procedure is done and what happens to the babies afterwards. And yet this same person still really likes Obama. I don’t get it. All my other pro-life friends totally hate Obama.
So pro-life people, explain to me why you like Obama when you know he approves of abortion so I can understand.

I am very pro-life and always have been. Each year when presidential/congressional election time starts to come around I look at each of the candidates. There is never anyone who has the same view on all the issues as I do. I can’t base my political votes soley on whether the candidate is pro-life or not. McCain is pro life but I didn’t agree with most of his other views. He did not have any plans to leave Iraq. He had no plan for the economy. He did not want any major health care reform that involved a public option.
I also don’t believe that any single President will be able to make Abortion illegal, that all comes from the House and Senate. To me the position of pro-life is more important in my senators and congressman than in my President. And in a time where Democrats have the majority abortion laws are not going to change for the better so I feel it is better focus on the other issues that need change and have a chance of getting the change.

obama is probably pro-life to, and i am a pro-life person myself, but he wants to make abortion legal, so all woman have the CHOICE to do it, coz legal or not, if they want it done, there going to do it. would you rather a vunerable, teenager girl stick a unwound coathanger up there and have an extremly dangerous abortion, or get a safe abortion where dangers to the girl can be controlled by professionals?
by the way, i think abortion is terrible and discourage it, but it should not be made illegal, because that is taking the choice away from women, and even though its wrong, the choice should still be there.
i like obama because he represents change and tolerence for america, and i think he just wants to make sure every american can have the choice to do something, and not to deprive them of the right of control over there own body.

Yes I like him, I think he’s basically a good man. I just disagree with just about everything he has proposed/everyone he has appointed and I wasn’t about to vote for him last year. I am praying and praying for God to change his heart on the abortion issue (and many others) and I hope most Christians are doing the same.
