I’ve heard a lot of Pro-Life people say that women who have abortions should be murdered or jailed, or even “aborted” themselves. But what would you say if one of the women who performed an abortion was really close to you?

My mom had two abortions, but she’s still an amazing person and would look out for anyone.

it interesting to note that young adults of 18,20,22, etc are already married or wanting a married life with babies. Am i missing the secret ingredient here?
Im 27yo mother and “Um…. well yes, an unmarried woman! LOL Com’on whats the drive for young people to be older than what they are warranted for?
speak for yourself, 27 is not so long.

Best answer:

Answer by Heaven L
Im 22, got married at 21, have baby on the way, still goin to university full time. i dont think im young at all. lol sometimes things happen in life that you cant control, im sure if you fell in love with someone at 19 or 20 u would be married with couple kids by now. I thought u would be talking about the really young girls like 14-17, but i feel once youre an adult (18) you should be able to do what u please.

Question by Drunk: Why do liberals still want special rights for groups of people?
Two wrongs don’t make a right. Gays are free to marry, yet they want special priviledge for same sex. Minorities are free to work, yet they are given special hiring quotas. Nearly every Terrorist is Muslim, yet we want to touch Grandpa Sven’s 70 year old junk. Why do we make all these special rights for people?

Best answer:

Answer by Mad Hatter
“Gays are free to marry, yet they want special priviledge for same sex.”
-If same sex marriage were recognized to the same extent opposite sex marriage is, straight and those of other sexual orientations would have the same right to marry a person of the same sex as gay people would.

“Minorities are free to work, yet they are given special hiring quotas.”
The general idea of affirmative action is that it creates a more equal employment opportunity by addressing existing inequalities. Of course, this idea is still controversial, and even many those in favor of it believe the policy is imperfect. This policy certainly gives some job applicants an advantage, depending on where and when they apply. However, all applicants must still meet the minimum requirements of the position they apply for. People of minority status aren’t automatically guaranteed a right to their preferred jobs.

“Nearly every Terrorist is Muslim, yet we want to touch Grandpa Sven’s 70 year old junk”
Assuming your statement that nearly every terrorist is a Muslim is correct, how can we identify, without fail, a person’s religion? There’s no scan for it right now. I don’t understand why you’re attributing this to “special rights.”

Question by CW: For pro-life people who say abortion is wrong even when rape caused the pregnancy?
If you were the ones to get brutally raped and psychologically traumatized and then you end up pregnant from the ordeal, would you REALLY want to be reminded of the moment every day for 9 months ???

yes, you are “killing” a life, but how about YOUR life ??? your miserable 9 months of carrying the baby of someone who hurt you the most?
I think it’s easy to say “abortion is wrong” when you are not the victim.

Best answer:

Answer by the_unluckiest
I’ve met hardcore pro-lifers and they are adamant that even if they were brutalized and raped, they would still have the baby.

Realistically I think unless you’ve been brutalized and raped and became pregnant, you wouldn’t really know how you’d feel while in that position. It’s easy to be at arm’s length and tell people what to do or to be all preachy but it’s another thing to actually be in that position and do as you preach.

It’s like people being against the death penalty. They’re not dying, or maybe even family members aren’t, but still, there’s many people who believe strongly that it’s wrong.

Question by dark: Are there any pro-life people on here who actually like Obama?
I know a person who is Christian and pro-life. This person doesn’t like abortion because they know how the procedure is done and what happens to the babies afterwards. And yet this same person still really likes Obama. I don’t get it. All my other pro-life friends totally hate Obama.

So pro-life people, explain to me why you like Obama when you know he approves of abortion so I can understand.

Answer by beth1723
I am very pro-life and always have been. Each year when presidential/congressional election time starts to come around I look at each of the candidates. There is never anyone who has the same view on all the issues as I do. I can’t base my political votes soley on whether the candidate is pro-life or not. McCain is pro life but I didn’t agree with most of his other views. He did not have any plans to leave Iraq. He had no plan for the economy. He did not want any major health care reform that involved a public option.
I also don’t believe that any single President will be able to make Abortion illegal, that all comes from the House and Senate. To me the position of pro-life is more important in my senators and congressman than in my President. And in a time where Democrats have the majority abortion laws are not going to change for the better so I feel it is better focus on the other issues that need change and have a chance of getting the change.
